tips for sewing pointe shoe ribbons

When sewing your shoes always have a pencil

Push the heel part back until it can go no further on the shank.
mark the place where it was with the pencil.
Do the same with the other shoe.
Burn your ribbons to make sure they DONT fray
when sewing go ONLY through the canvas inside not the satin if you go through the satin it WILL LOOK SLOPPY,
especially on stage I mean how sad is that?
